The question raised by the 58-minute video is whether the atomic bombs were necessary to end the war with Japan. The program draws on previously unpublished and recently declassified documents from the U.S., Japanese, and Soviet archives. Perspectives of the bomber crew, Nagasaki survivors, and other participants in events surrounding the atomic bombings are recorded along with the opinions of American and Japanese historians."
