Program Abstract: "Sanjuro (Toshiro Mifune) is back, and he is up to his old tricks. This time he amuses himself by helping nine men combat a much larger group of bad guys. In order to be victorious he will have to rely on his wits and his seemingly abundant experience. Actually he just has to suggest the tactic that is opposite of what his allies want to do, which tells you a lot about his allies.

Sanjuro is predominantly more of the same samurai shenanigans first shown in Yojimbo, except Kurosawa does try to infuse some humanity into Mifune's Sanjuro. By the end he exhibits a level of maturity which might explain why a third film was not welcome or necessary"
