EASC Study Tour 2002: Orientation Schedule (tentative)April 20-21, 2002Orientation will be held at the International Programs building, 201 North Indiana Avenue. From the Indiana Memorial Union ("Union Building"), this is a short walk through Dunn Meadow (see campus map). Details regarding what to bring, reading assignments, etc. are forthcoming.
Noon - 1:00 Registration (Bring your "overnight system" with you to the meeting room): Light snacks and drinks served. 1:00 - 1:30 Welcome 1:30 - 2:30 Self-introductions 2:45 - 3:45 Determining group goals 3:45 - 4:30 Campus Tour (We will take our luggage with us. The tour will end at the hotel, so you'll be able to drop your luggage in your room.) 4:30 - 5:00 Take luggage to room & break 5:00 - 5:30 Wine and cheese reception. Digital portraits taken for website. 5:30 - 7:00 Dinner 7:15 - 8:15 Introduction to the Japanese educational system, led by Professor Richard Rubinger, East Asian Languages and Cultures 8:15 - 9:15 Q&A about practical concerns - luggage, money, itinerary logistics, etiquette, etc. Note: We will not be formally presenting during this session. We will respond to your questions. We'll cover all of the above areas on the Website in advance of the orientation, so please read ahead and come prepared with questions.
