Title: Suggestions for Improving the Classroom Climate for Women in the Introductory Economics Course: A Review Article
Abstract: This article is basically a review of Sex and Gender in the Social Sciences: Reassessing the Introductory Course. Ferber suggests that if instructors were more evenhanded in their treatment of various subjects (and especially those most relevant to women) both female and male students would benefit, both immediately and later in the work place. She also suggests that better communication between students and instructors and the observance of correct amenities in their relationships would improve the self-image and confidence of female students.
