Title: Economic Education in Our Schools: A Renewed Mission
Abstract: In a speech at the 1984 Annual Meeting of the Joint Council on Economic Education and the National Association of Economic Education, Richard Cyert points out the importance of economic education in understanding changes that are currently being experienced in our economy and that are likely to continue. He stresses the imprtance of the computer and automation and predicts a decline in the importance of manufacturing and a more unequal distribution of income, and he suggests the need for some sort of a life net for possible casualities of this process.
