Title: Gender Economics Courses in Liberal Arts Colleges
Abstract: A simultaneous probit model shows the motivating factors for the presence of gender-oriented courses using data collected from 132 liberal arts colleges. Results suggest that highly ranked, non-religiously affiliated schools are most likely to support these types of courses. Larger economics departments with larger percentages of women are more likely to offer gender economics courses.
