Title: Active Learning with Monty Hall in a Game Theory Class

Abstract: On the first days of a game theory class, students play the Monty Hall game, which involved selecting one of three doors and then deciding whether to switch doors. By implementing a procedure proposed some 45 years ago, students not only grasp the correct answer, but also become aware of the importance of the assumption that players have common knowledge of the four essential elements of a game.
