 The last few years have seen a tremendous increase in the number of economics majors. Since 2005 the number of our majors went from below 200 to about 350 and judging from the new certifications of majors there is no end to this trend in sight. In a time of tight budgets and limited hiring this increased demand for our courses has raised new challenges in the class room and for our major advisor.
All these problems notwithstanding, the econ majors at IU are still relatively successful in finding employment. According to the most recent senior survey job search success at the time of graduation for econ majors was over 60%, twice the College of Arts and Science average. |
