Course Evaluation by Students, Effective Instruction and Student Learning:  Re-examining the Relationships

You are invited to participate in a research study. The purpose of this study is to examine relationships among items on course evaluation forms, instructional practices, and student academic learning time.   It will take 10 minutes to complete the survey.

INFORMATION

As a participant in this study, you will complete a Web-based survey about one of your current or recent classes, your participation in course activities, and your sense of accomplishment in that course. The data will be compiled by the researchers. No individual student data will be seen by the instructor of your course. 

BENEFITS

While there are no direct benefits to you, you will be adding to the body of knowledge with regard to items used in course evaluations and their relationship with what instructors do and how well students learn.

CONFIDENTIALITY

No students will be identified and all information will be reported in aggregate form. No individual student information will be shared with the instructors of any classes.  Names of instructors and course titles will be kept confidential, and aggregated by type of subject matter in any reports.
