This is an excellent resource that can be used by anyone.  Persons associated with Indiana University will find the Knowledge Base especially helpful.  To use the Knowledge Base type in a word or words in the Search box and a list of related topics will appear that can be printed.

Senior Corps Tech Center  <http://seniortechcenter.org/>  This is a technical support center for those involved with Senior Corps programs.  The site offers a great Reference Library addressing a vast range of computing topics.  The topics are addressed in the form of easy to read and helpful brief, download able articles.  The Reference Library can be accessed by  anyone.

SeniorNet  <www.seniornet.org>
One of the oldest and most successful organizations devoted to senior computing.  The site offers computing help guides and tutorials for learning to use a computer, computing activities including book discussions, crafts & collectibles, topically based online chatting and many other opportunities for senior computer users.

The "Computers & Technology" Section <http://www.aarp.org/comptech/news/news111401.html> of the AARP web site offers many computing resources.  Tips and How To guides are available for users of all skill levels, there are software guides, and a Computing Help Center Discussion Bulletin Board.  The site also is a good place to sign-up for a variety of e-newsletters and to learn about things to do on the internet..

FirstGov for Seniors <http://www.seniors.gov/computers.html>
A section of the FirstGov for Seniors web site, a site maintained by the Social Security Administration, is devoted to information about senior computing.  The section offers an extensive set of  links to web sites to support senior computer users including sites offering offer tutorials and guides for those who are new to computing.

Once in the site click on "Computers & Internet" for tips on navigating the Internet and other computer sites.

Basic Computing Skills Courses Online

The site name says it all!  This site will be especially useful for those who use Windows 98.  The author attempts to provide step by step instructions for carrying out many basic computing tasks.

Learn the Net.com <http://www.learnthenet.com/>
Offers free computing information such as how to guides and online activities.  Some low cost, online courses, in the $6-$10 range, are offered.  The online courses appear to be brief such as one to two hours.  A free e-newsletters is offered.
