Dr. Justin Hodgson, currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Rhetoric and Writing at The University of Texas at Austin, will be joining the IU English Department faculty this coming fall. Dr. Hodgson's research and teaching focus on the points of connection and spaces of contention among digital media and rhetorical studies, with a particular tint toward the areas of multimedia production and rhetorical invention. He has published research, in both print and multimedia formats, in edited collections as well as in the journals Enculturation, Kairos, Pre/Text, Composition Studies, and Education Quarterly. Additionally, Dr. Hodgson is the founding editor of The Journal for Undergraduate Multimedia Projects (TheJUMP), a journal dedicated to undergraduate multimedia scholarship that also serves as pedagogical resource for instructors of multimedia composition. Dr. Hodgson completed his Ph.D. in the Rhetorics, Communication and Information Design (RCID) program at Clemson University (under the direction of Victor J. Vitanza) and has also taken doctoral-level graduate courses in the Media and Communication concentration of the European Graduate School (Saas Fee, Switzerland).
