Class 3. P: BMET 330 or consent of instructor. This course provides an
overview of human structure, function, and chemistry as they relate to
the clinical laboratory environment. The class emphasizes the study of
bodily fluids and commonly analyzed tissues under both normal and
disease conditions. Fluids studied include blood components, urine,
spinal fluid, and joint fluid. This class will also discuss medical
terminology as well as the medical communication skills required to
interface with hospital staff.
