Survey of underlying principles, fundamental problems, and their
solutions in designing computer networks. Laboratory projects include
using network systems and network simulation environments. Topics
include: motivations, networking topologies, layered open systems
protocols, transmission capacity, circuit and packet switching, packet
framing and error correction, routing, flow and congestion control, and
internetworking.
