Houses are a visible semi-permanent record of human values, political
ideas, historical settlement, and community development. This record is
reflected in the types of houses built during a particular time period, by
certain groups of people, or in a certain area of the country. This course
examines house types for the purpose of identifying and analyzing
geographic patterns that occur in North America.
