P: G300 or consent of instructor.  Survey of cultural and intellectual life of
the German-speaking countries of the 20th century, through the reading
of exemplary literary works.  Discussions of literary movements from the
turn of the century until the present.  Texts will be analyzed within the
context of  other cultural phenomena, including film and music.
