 HUMAN EVOLUTION UNIT

Drawings of Selected Hominoids for the
Hominoid Cranial Comparison Lesson

The seven drawings available for downloading from this site, in PDF format, were drawn by Ryan Scott McCullar*, for Martin Nickels at Illinois State University. Each one is a full scale profile, identified, and with a metric ruler for convenience (and to confirm the scale). If you can use a laser printer (e.g. at your district office, school, or local library), your results should be of very good quality, although inkjet printouts should be quite usable. A fast internet connection would also facilitate your downloading success.

Each drawing requires about 100K of memory, so, in order to speed up the download time, they are available separately, and must be downloaded as seven separate items. To retrieve each item, just click on its name (in dark blue print) below. This will activate Adobe Reader, which will display the image, which you may now download. If you need to get the free Adobe Reader application, see the General Information section on this site.

*Scott McCullar is currently Professor of Art at Springfield College in Illinois.

 NEW HOMINOID PHOTOS

As an alternative to these 7 profile drawings, consider using our new set of 28 color photos.
Each of 7 skulls is viewed from 4 different perspectives, offering greater variety of observations and measurement possibilities. All photos are in the same scale.
