ORIGIN OF WHALES: more detailed information (11 pages) about whale fossils, in addition to presenting 9 independent lines of evidence, all confirming the evolution of whales. Optional, for extra day of classwork, perhaps have different teams read different parts and share during classwide discussion, or as extra credit for interested students.

WHALE LENGTHS: table for overhead projector, so students can make full size strips of adding machine tape to match actual whale lenghts (modern and extinct) to get a realistic sense of relative sizes (optional).
