Environmental issues span physical scales from atoms to planets with
human consequences ranging from local to global. Recent national studies
highlight a surprising lack of knowledge concerning rapid climate change,
renewable energy resources, adequate water resources, environmental
quality, ecosystem dynamics, and mitigation of natural disasters.
Moreover, the most effective environmental degree programs are highly
collaborative efforts spanning a range of scientific disciplines and a
broad spectrum of analytical facilities and field sites.
The Bloomington campus of Indiana University has enormous potential in Environmental Sciences through the combined resources available in the College of Arts and Sciences and the School of Public and Environmental Affairs. Degree OptionsTo meet the growing demand for environmental science graduates at all degree levels, a number of degree options exist on the Bloomington campus. Designed as rigorous interdisciplinary science curricula, the degree options prepare students either for direct entry into an environmental science career or for advanced study and training in environmental science as well as in the traditional sciences. |
