European Union Center

Welcome to Indiana University's European Union Center.  The EU Center’s goal is to increase the understanding of the European Union.  It supports the activities of Indiana University faculty  and students engaged in EU studies.  Additionally, the EU Center is a resource to furnish accurate and timely information regarding the EU to K-12 teachers, postsecondary faculty, government officials, media, business, and other civic groups.

The EU Center focuses on the changing nature of the European Union, its institutions, the EU's relations with the 27 member states, EU external relations, and other overarching themes across the EU.  This approach complements the other programs at IU that focus on the study of the EU’s member states and neighbors.  While housed in the West European Studies Center, the EU Center builds on the strengths of other area studies and policy studies programs at IU.  Together, these units train future generations of scholars and professionals in advanced, interdisciplinary EU studies and increase awareness of the EU in the broader community.
