EU Languages offered at IU

Indiana University teaches one of the broadest ranges of European languages in the United States, regularly offering 17 of the 23 European Union’s official languages, all official languages of the three candidate countries, and other languages spoken by minorities in the EU.

In addition to language courses during the fall and spring semesters, IU offers many intensive summer language classes. IU annually sponsors the Summer Workshop in Slavic, East European and Central Asian Languages (SWSEEL), and regularly hosts the Baltic Studies Summer Institute (BALSSI), the National Institute for Summer Scandinavian Studies (NISSS), and the Summer Dutch Institute (SDI). The exact list of langauges offered at these summer institutes changes yearly, as do the locations for BALSSI, NISSS, and SDI. Please check their websites for more information.
