Europe is on the verge of undergoing the same economic integration process that the U.S. experienced more than a century ago. This will be the triumph of economic over political priorities--in the near term. But the challenges are real and widespread. Professor Burda will analyze the future of banking in Europe, product and labor market reform, and immigration policy.
Professor Burda, a New Orleans native, earned his PhD from Harvard and has been a professor of economics at Humboldt University of Berlin since 1993. He has written more than 100 scientific articles and is the co-author of a widely used textbook on European macroeconomics.
