In Times Like These...
It is the End of Days. A second war, this time between the Pattern and Logrus itself has brought an end to all things. But why? After all of these years, why should they seek mutual destruction?
Merlin, King of Chaos, has sought out Dworkin, Master of the Line. Together they have gathered together the remaining family of Amber in an attempt to undo what has been done.
Ancient Powers, even older than the Pattern or Logrus, are behind the recent cataclysmic events. It would seem that a 'poisoning' of the Jewel occured even before the creation of the Logrus. Something that would, given the proper circumstances, bring about an end to the Unicorn and Serpent, the Logrus and Pattern.
Dworkin, using the last of his powers, has created a Vortex of Time which will take the Amberites back to the beginning and, hopefully, prevent the sinister deed from taking place. Can the Amberites find a way to defeat these Ancient Ones? Can they protect the Jewel from being poisoned once again?
