Textiles Facilities

Textiles is located on the second floor of the Fine Arts building. The studio is equipped with Macomber looms with sectional warp beams – several have double warp beams – as well as a 32-harness compu-dobby loom. Tools, equipment and supplies for felting and various off-loom techniques for student use are available in the studio. There are large printing tables as well as a darkroom facility with a vacuum exposure unit for silk screening. Computers and related software are available for digital design and printing on fabric, and a fully-equipped dye room with large sinks, 16 gas burners, steamer and drying racks is contiguous to the studio. There are 10 tabletop sewing machines as well as an industrial sewing machine and serger available for sewing.
