Lecture by Bill and Vicky Stewart of Vamp & Tramp Booksellers
4:30–6 pm in Indiana University Fine Arts room 102

The Friends of Art Bookshop and the Indiana University Fine Arts Library is sponsoring an event with Vamp & Tramp Booksellers on Friday, November 9, 2012. Vicky and Bill Stewart, owners of Vamp & Tramp Books, will present a lecture titled “Artists’ Books: When the Goblet Becomes the Wine” from 4:30–6 pm in room 102 of Indiana University’s Fine Arts Building. Based in Birmingham, AL, the Stewarts travel the United States with their vast and unique collection of handmade Artists’ Books, selling to collectors, retail shops and universities. Attend the lecture to hear the stories behind the books, and to learn more of their experiences as dealers of this rare but enticing art form.

In conjunction with the lecture, Vamp & Tramp will have their collection of Artists’ Books on display in the Reading Room of Indiana University’s Fine Arts Library from 1–3 pm on Friday, November 9, 2012, offering attendees the opportunity to look at and handle the books in their collection.

The lecture and viewing are both free and open to the public. For more information call the Friends of Art Bookshop at (812) 855-1333 or email foabooks@indiana.edu.
