Midterm Madness
Oct 7, 2005

My sister who lives on Saipan, a small island in the Pacific Ocean, has been about to have a baby for two weeks. I think my mom's head might actually pop off from nerves (she's a little high-strung). This weekend, my sister's doctor is off the island and my mom is on a plane for 20 hours on the way there. I have no doubt that the little darling will make his appearance on Saturday at the least convenient time. He'll definitely fit in with the rest of us!
In other news, a gigantic (likely rabid) gopher charged Thai and I this week over near the stadium. It was horrifying; I recommend avoiding that area at all costs.
Midterms have started and there is definitely a different feeling in the SPEA building—fewer group meetings and more voodoo dolls of certain finance professors (just kidding, please don't fail me!). I honestly get a little nauseous when I think about the next two weeks of my life. I think this is what grad school is really like and that whole fun first part was just to lure us in and trap us here.
