My Nephew’s Birth

My nephew, Garrett, waited for his grandma to get there and was born on October 12. (He's on the other side of the International Date Line, so it was October 11 here, but his birthday is still the 12th...I think.)

Things to whine about:

• Midterms are still the main topic of conversation around SPEA. That and immunization holds on your *&%$!&@ registration. I think by that they mean you will have to be on hold with the registrar's office for an hour during the last week of your cell phone month.
• It's almost not fair how pretty it has been outside this week since I have so much to do that requires sitting inside the library. Not that I'm hoping winter will come any faster than it has to, but it could at least have the decency to wait to be perfect hiking weather until after the bulk of my tests are finished.
• Also, this is the second week that The O.C. (a TV show on WB) has been preempted by baseball; I had to go out to the bars last night in protest (see picture). Hopefully, that will not completely throw off my weekend study schedule!
