Happy and Sad

Last week was a strange mix of happy and sad.

I finally finished my midterms on Wednesday! After class I did a little dance in the hall, and we went out to dinner to celebrate. On Thursday morning my grandmother passed away. I flew home (to D.C.) on Saturday and drove to New York with my family on Sunday. It was very hard to see my dad upset, but I am glad that I was able to be there for him and my mom. My grandmother got to see pictures of her first great grandchild (the first boy in the family since my dad) before she died, and dad said she lit up when she saw him. I think it made her very happy. On Monday morning we held a small graveside service, and I flew back to school last night.

Now I just have to get through the rest of the week. I only have two assignments due before Friday, so it's actually a pretty light week. My boyfriend is coming to visit this weekend, so I have something to look forward to. Yay, nice dinner!
