Home Cooking

Sara Brummett bowling with a friend.
Who knew that the town of Zionsville with its brick street and antique stores could finally appear charming to me? I went home this past weekend and as I drove on the bricks, I could feel my guard dropping and the desire to eat a good home-cooked meal and to relax settling in. There´s just something about going home that makes it seem that, in spite of whatever is going on, everything will be okay. And I figured something out. If I don´t visit home for a couple of months and I say how busy I am and how I can´t find much time to cook, my mom will want to cook for me. So, I had to make a few trips from my car up to my apartment because of all the food my mom cooked and put in little Tupperware containers to freeze and a few bags of groceries from my favorite grocery store, Trader Joe’s. And while I was home I got to see my best friend, Courtney. It was her boyfriend David´s birthday celebration so I went with David and Courtney and her sisters and sisters´ fiancé and husband out to eat and then bowling. I am really not a good bowler. I think when you can hear a loud thud as I launch the ball down the lane, you can figure my bowling skills out pretty quickly. But I had a good time and can´t wait to spend time at home again for Thanksgiving break.
