The Maze of Priorities
Oct 17, 2005

Some weeks balance is a struggle, and this week was one of those weeks. It seemed like every time I turned around I had to decide what took priority, what had to wait, and what just had to slip on by. It’s hard to decide what takes priority. I think just about everybody struggles with that. I know classes are one of my first priorities, but my house and spending time with my boyfriend and family are a few of my favorite priorities.
The weather was beautiful this week and I couldn’t help but take some time outside to work in my garden. I also went to my first genuine Indiana corn maze. It was pretty fun and I’m glad I took the time to do it. My boyfriend went with me. We also bought pumpkins at a farm on our way home. It looks like carving them will have to wait till next weekend though.
However, now after taking some time for my yard and some fall festivities the pressure is on. I have to study for two exams, regular homework, and do some prep work for a meeting that I have tomorrow about a new job. At this point I’m kind of hoping for a miracle because after work and regular classes there’s not a lot of time left in the day to prepare for these. I’m sure you can’t see the concern in my face at the corn maze because at that point I was focused on the fun at hand. Decisions, decisions. Well, my garden looks great—I just hope the grades for my exams will as well.
