Another Week of Wows

Sep 22, 2005

IUPUI freshman Olutope Omosegbon and her friends.

Today in my biology recitation class, I was told that I have been in school for five weeks. Again, it is hard to imagine that time has passed so quickly. By the end of next week, I will have already taken three major tests! Talk about really getting into the swing of things. I am finding biology lab to be rather interesting, although chemistry lab serves as a lot of fun! In fact, in my calculus class, I have a lab. I use this wonderful, incredibly powerful Canadian program called MAPLE to complete tasks and write reports.

This month, the Women in Science program will have its first get-together. Along with the free pizza, all 29 of my building-mates will receive valuable information on studying, exam preparation, involvement in the science clubs, and who to call on whenever help may be needed. So far, my building-mates are getting along and trying to adjust to our very different and busy schedules.

Tonight all IUPUI students will be able to go to Jillian’s for free! Since I have never had the chance to go to a Chuck E. Cheese’s, I am extremely excited for such an event to take place. IUPUI has put together a series of events for these first few weeks called WOW (Weeks of Welcome). Sadly, they will be coming to an end this month, but they were a lot of fun. The picture of Holly, Jennifer, and me (left to right) can prove this. We have been friends since our summer orientation program, and it is nice to see that our friendship continues to grow.
