IU Bloomington freshman, Bachelor of Science in Business

Eugene Wong traveled around the world, leaving his home in Singapore to study at the IU Bloomington Kelley School of Business. A freshman studying business with a concentration in finance and operations management, he picked IU for its reputation.

“I am also engaged in competitive swimming,” Wong says. “While doing research on universities in America, I discovered that the swimming pool was named after the famous John Counsilman. Realizing that they had an excellent swimming team and a comprehensive training system, I knew that IU was the perfect place for me.”

Outside of the classroom, Wong, 17, stays busy. He is a member of the IU men's swimming team and the Asian Business Society. Before arriving at IU, he was the swimming captain at his secondary school for two years, and he had achieved two gold medals in the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Cup when he was 11.

His career goal is to work as a financial analyst in a multinational corporation.
