Eligibility and Requirements

Successful applicants should:

• Demonstrate commitment to participatory and experiential learning through FCI application materials and subsequent assessments
• Display the appropriate Chinese proficiency level through application materials

In order to be fully considered for the Flagship Chinese Institute, each applicant must submit these documents:

• Online application
• 500-word English essay (see application for description)
• Chinese essay (see application for description) - for students applying to Levels 2 and 3
• Recommendation form and letter from current main language instructor
• Most recent College transcript (unofficial copy acceptable)

In addition, all applicants will be required to demonstrate their language ability through a personal or phone interview before admittance to the program.
