Scholarships and Grants for Native Undergraduates at IU

• Herman C. Hudson and James P. Holland Scholars Program (Formerly Minority Achievers Program)
  Under this program, Native students (and other underrepresented-group students) can receive $4000-$6000/year in-state or $5000-$7000/year out-of-state scholarships. The program, however, is not limited to money: Hudson-Holland scholars have regular access to an academic advisor, complete an internship, and have social gatherings.
• University Honors College
  The Honors college provides both four-year scholarships for incoming freshmen (ranging from $1,000 to $10,000 per year) and grants for academic activity. Students also have access to special honors sections of undergraduate courses. It is strictly "merit"-based.
• Wells Scholarship Program
  This program provides a full scholarship and stipend to a very limited number of students, as well as extensive academic support. It is strictly "merit" based.
• IUB Office of Student Financial Assistance Undergraduate Awards List
  Detailed table of awards commonly given to the general body of undergraduates at IU, with information about criteria, amount, and restrictions. Unfortunately, some of the "minority" awards appear to be exclude American Indian students.
• American Indian Educational Fund (non-IU)
  AIEF provides scholarships of $3000/year for freshmen and $1500/year for sophomore through senior students. They also advocate on behalf of American Indian students with universities.
• American Indian Science and Engineering Society Scholarships (non-IU)
  List of many scholarships for Native science or engineering students with a wide range of criteria and award amounts.
• American Indian College Fund Scholarships (non-IU)
  Scholarships for both tribal colleges and a limited number of mainstream university scholarships that are based on both "merit" and financial need.
