Paolo Tortonese is professor of French literature at the University of Paris - Sorbonne Nouvelle, where he directs the Centre de Recherche sur les Poétiques du XIXe siècle. His research interests are focused on Romanticism, Naturalism and fantasy literature. He also works on issues at the crossroads between literature and philosophy, including the history of theories of literary and artistic representation. He is the author of L'OEil de Platon et le regard romantique (Kimé, 2006) (Kimé, 2006) and L'Homme en action : la représentation littéraire d'Aristote à Zola (Classiques Garnier, 2013).
