Literature: "Texts and Contexts"

Mr. Westhoff, an ABD
student in French literature, will discuss two types of travel texts:
pilgrimage narratives and missionary accounts of the Far East. His
aim is to give more insight into the nature of the most popular
travel work of the Middle Ages, the Livre de Jean de Mandeville.
The presentation will be followed by discussion and refreshments.
