You are cordially invited to a public screening of the Italian Film
Cantando Dietro i Paraventi
directed by Ermanno Olmi
Thursday, April 20, 2006
7:00 pm
Chemistry Building, Room 001
This film will be followed by Italian refreshments and a public round-table discussion lasting until about 10:00pm. Cantando Dietro i Paraventi, a pirate story set in 18th century China, is particularyly interesting because the director, as a modern Jesuit, tries to establish a connection between his Catholic humanism and Confucian tradition. Professor Lynn Struve, from the History Department, and two graduate students will try to highlight the most interesting aspects of this work.
