Arnaldo Di Benedetto is professor at the University of Torino and co-editor of Giornale storico della letteratura italiana, one of the most prestigious journals of Italian literary studies in the world. Di Benedetto, whose scholarship focuses mostly on 18th- and 19th-century Italian literature, has also published extensively on "border" literature, that is, on the literary production of bilingual authors from the French, Swiss and Austrian limits.
Professor Di Benedetto’s visit is made possible through support from the Department of French & Italian’s Mary-Margaret Barr Koon Fund, the Olga Ragusa Fund for the Study of Modern Italian Literature and Culture, the Office of International Programs, West European Studies, Comparative Literature, and Germanic Studies.
Lecture to be followed by discussion and refreshments. The presentation will be in Italian.
