The New River and Babcock State Park, WV

Explore the beauty of the late-summer southern deciduous forests hiking in the central Appalachian Mountains. Spend the next day cooling off as you enjoy the thrill of rafting the lower New River in some of the most beautiful scenery in the Appalachians. You will navigate the biggest rapids the river has to offer including Surprise, Keeney Brothers, Double Z, and Greyhound Bus Stopper. These class III- V rapids are separated by calm pools offering plenty of time to relax, swim, and enjoy a lazy summer day. Finish up the week with a tour of a half a dozen waterfalls in one day!
