Freshmen and Transfer Students New to IU Bloomington
We're delighted you're joining our academic community, and we're confident that you'll enjoy being a student here. We want to make your transition to IU as easy as possible.
The first step in getting off to a good start at IU is attending an New Student Orientation.
If you're attending IUB for the first time as a degree-seeking student, you are required to attend this program in order to register for classes.
During your program, you will not only meet with an academic advisor and register for your first semester classes, but you will also take any required exams, meet other new students, learn about some of the resources, opportunities and services at waiting for you on campus and start to get to know the campus. We also offer a program designed for parents/adult guests that coincides with the student program.
