Welcome Week Assistants are returning IU students who help in the planning and success of Welcome Week activities. These students will help welcome new Hoosiers to IU and prepare them for their first year at Indiana.

To serve in this capacity, Welcome Week staff must

• be a full-time student who has completed at least 1 semester of classes at IU Bloomington
• be enthusiastic and positive about Indiana University,
• be supportive of, knowledgeable about, and participate in Welcome Week activities,
• be able to return to campus on the Friday PRIOR to Welcome Week in August by 12pm to begin preparation activities
• be committed to stay with the program through Welcome Week,
• be willing to serve as positive role models,
• be able to be a capable resource regarding Indiana University programs and services

Approximately 10-12 Welcome Week Assistants will be selected n the early spring to represent each Residence Center and to, with residence staff, lead the Welcome Week activities through Welcome Week. All Welcome Week staff will work in conjunction with the Office of First Year Experience Programs and Residential Programs and Services.
