EXERCISES
Examination and evaluation of real-time oceanographic data on the internet
|
Ocean Waters and Atmospheric Gases:
- The principal aims of the individual assignments are as follows:
- to explore the variations in global seawater surface temperatures.
- to evaluate controls on surface seawater salinity.
- to determine the characteristics that define and distinguish water
masses.
- to investigate annual variability in sea ice production and iceberg
calving.
- to explore anthropogenic changes in atmospheric levels of carbon
dioxide.
- to examine seasonal and temporal development of the Antarctic ozone
hole.
- The overall objective of these assignments is to demonstrate the
spatial and temporal variability in various characteristics of the oceans
and atmosphere that are closely related to climate.
