The adventure game 'Monsters, Inc.' is based on the movie. The overall goal is to return Boo safely home after she accidentally wonders in Monstropolis. Through out this game, the goal for each level is clearly defined in the cut scene prior to starting the level. The cut scene identifies the problem of the scene and what Sulley needs to do to solve the problem. The game does not use general knowledge gained by watching the movie; however you do gain a good sense of what level will come next by the major scenes in the movie. You play the role of James P. Sullivan, the top scarer at Monsters, Inc. Sulley, as he is conveniently nicknamed by his sidekick Mike, is a large blue monster with purple spots. Sulley has the ability, depending on which level it is, to jump, scare, swat, and smash. With Sulley completing the levels, he slowly moves to catch Boo and take her back to safety. The main environment of the game takes place in several locations, much like the movie. The factory where Sulley scares at is the main focus of many of the scenes, as well as the store room for the doors. In Sulley's apartment, Sulley must collect items to make Boo's costume. Sulley must navigate through building tops and avoid the CDA (Child Detection Agency) to recollect Boo when she is scared away. Each map for each game is computer-generated to be different each time. |
