Click here for a PDF of all the coordinates and other information. How it works: There are six geocaches hidden around campus. Each with varying difficulty and terrain. 5 of the geocache coordinates are listed below and the 6th final cache is unknown. In order to discover the location of the finalcache, you have to find all 5 of the other caches. Each cache will have a code at the top of the log book. These codes will complete the missing digits of the final cache's coordinates. For example, if cache A's code was 1, then final cache's north coordinates would change from N 39 degrees 10.AB[C1] to N 39 degrees 10.1B[C1]. The caches will remain active for anyone to find and sign the logs until Sunday November 20 at 12:00pm. The players who find all 6 of the caches will be put in a drawing to win various prizes including a $50 Visa Gift Card! Results will be announced once all of the tallies are made after November 20th. Finding a cache: After you load the coordinates onto your GPS, it's time to begin the search! Once you find a cache, there will be a log sheet inside. Legibly write your email address on the sheet. After you sign it, replace the cache exactly how you found it. If we can't read your email address, it will not be counted towards your total score. The Coordinates: Cache A: N 39 degrees 10.243 W 086 degrees 31.052 Cache B: N 39 degrees 10.047 W 086 degrees 31.523 Cache C: N 39 degrees 10.366 W 086 degrees 31.216 Cache D: N 39 degrees 09.993 W 086 degrees 30.723 Cache E: N 39 degrees 09.904 W 086 degrees 30.615 Cache F (puzzle cache): N 39° 10.[A][B][C1] W 86° 30.[C2][D][E] GIS Day Geocaching Club Booth: Learn more about geocaching and meet some Geocaching Club at IU members as well as members of the community-wide Bloomington Geocachers group at our display at the GIS festivities in Wells Library on November 16th. If you need some hints on the GIS Day Geocaching Challenge, this would be a good opportunity to gain some insights from experienced geocachers. Stop by at any point during the day! Plus you can claim the IU GIS Day Geocaching Exhibit Event Cache.
