Expansion to Geography North: Multidisciplinary Science Building II (MSB-II)
The climatology faculty who conduct experimental
work moved into the new purpose built Multidisciplinary Science Building
II shortly after the official opening in October 2009. The third floor of the new building is dedicated to environmental science and
includes office space for both Geography and SPEA faculty. Geology/geochemistry colleagues occupy the fourth floor.
The laboratory space is developed to facilitate development,
operation and testing of instruments and to conduct analysis of samples.
In addition to the spacious laboratories, the faculty have office space, with generous accommodation for post-doctoral fellows and graduate students. The new facilities offer limitless opportunities for experimental research (laboratory or field) and for co-operation in research in the geosciences.
