What is GIS?

On November 20, 2013, Indiana University will celebrate GIS Day with a host of informational booths and activities to showcase the exciting work that the Indiana community is doing with Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

At 1pm the Polis Center staff will present the IUB disaster resistant university maps and plans.  The public is invited to attend and ask questions.

See the Places & Spaces: Mapping Science 9th iteration of maps focused around the theme "Science maps for Science Forecasts."

Learn about the WorldProcessor Project and see two globes by journalist and artist, Ingo Günther.

You will find 3D visualizations, earthquake models and interactive maps.
