University Information Technology Services (UITS) at Indiana University created the Indiana Spatial Data Portal (ISDP) Download Tool to provide a means of easily retrieving multiple files from our online data clearinghouse. This application will not replace the ISDP web site, which continues to offer downloads on a single-file download basis.

This application is intended for users who need to download several files from the Indiana Spatial Data Portal and would prefer not to have to interactively search for and click on each file to download.

With this tool, users can select an area of interest (Township, U.S. Geological Survey Quadrangle, city, or custom extent) and see a listing of all the files available for that geographic area. Next users choose the specific files they wish to download from this list. Finally, users decide where to save the files on their local system and proceed with the download. The application begins transferring files to your system and continues automatically until all files have been retrieved.

UITS has updated the ISDP Multi-file Download Tool with the following improvements:

• Improved response of download intitiation
• Removed historical order logs (1 month will be kept) to improve speed of file queries
• Corrected window position of license agreement page to improve ease of setup

• Built on Microsoft .Net 2.0 Framework
• Ability to download files that are larger than 3GB in size
• Online Help documentation
• User friendly menus with updates to descriptive text and task confirmation

The ISDP Download Tool requires an email address to be used as your user identification. This should be a valid e-mail address, because if you forget your password, we will send a new one to the e-mail address you have entered. All information collected as part of the registration process will be kept confidential. Indiana University will use this data as a means of contacting you when software or data updates are available, or to notify you of system outages. You may also receive an e-mail survey requesting feedback about your use of the system. Indiana University will not share your registration information with anyone without your consent.
