2007 Marion County Orthophotography
Dataset Basics The City of Indianapolis and Marion County acquired imagery during leaf-off, cloudless conditions April 2, 2007, and April 20, 2007. The project included all of Marion County. Woolpert, the contractor, flew 29 flight lines (north-south) April 2 with line #1 (western edge) reflown April 20. Of the 1,659 images, only 35 images were acquired by Woolpert on April 20, 2007; the vendor acquired all others April 2, 2007. Woolpert used 19 control points painted or paneled with a flight height of 4,700 feet AGL, at 135 kts. Woolpert adjusted the control to NAD83(1986). Each 3 band tile is 5000 columns x 7000 rows. The vendor used an ADS40 camera to acquire the 0.5-foot pixel resolution imagery covering 396 square miles encompassing all of Marion County and a one mile buffer outside the county boundary. Woolpert produced the data using National Map Accuracy Standards (NMAS) for 1"=100' scale mapping. The Indianapolis Mapping and Geographic Infrastructure System (IMAGIS) staff provided a copy of the tiled TIFF and MrSID MG3 images to University Information Technology Services (UITS) at Indiana University. UITS created Geotiffs, Geotiffs with JPG compression, and ECW compressed images. All images and mosaics are in Indiana State Plane East 1301. The vendor provided FGDC metadata with an index map in shapefile format. Use Constraints: This data is for planning purposes only and should not be used for legal or cadastral purposes. File Formats Each image is archived in a .zip file which includes the image and all ancillary files provided to UITS.
