ABOUT THE CENTER* OVERVIEW

The Center for the Study of Global Change maintains a strong commitment to interdisciplinary study and research. It has consciously followed a policy of encouraging the crossing of disciplinary boundaries in study and research.  The Center sponsors a broad range of educational programs and research on global issues in the contemporary world. These encompass the effects of fundamental societal transformation, the impact of power on social and political life, problems of differentials in the access to resources, sustainable development, and the growing influence of nationalism and movements of cultural identity.

Our Primary Role: Globalization at Indiana University: The Center is eminently and strategically positioned to encourage the focusing of intellectual resources of the University in the search for workable solutions to fluid transnational problems. As a catalyst, the Center has become a critical force in the University community and beyond; this animating role will continue to characterize our initiatives.
