Language Pedagogy, Assessment & Technology Workshop
for LCTL Instructors |
|
| August 21 - 23, 2010 at the Center for the Study of Global Change (201 N. Indiana) and CeLTIE (Ballantine Hall) |
The Center for the Study of Global Change, Center for Language Technology and Instructional Enrichment (CeLTIE), and the Department of Second Language Studies (SLS) are sponsoring the Annual Language Pedagogy, Assessment, and Technologies Workshop for Less Commonly Taught Language instructors on August 21-23. The first two days will emphasize language pedagogies and the last day will focus on instructional technologies and assessment. |
|
Dr. Kelly Sax, a specialist in foreign language pedagogy, applied linguistics, and sociolinguistics will be the primary instructor; she will be leading the first two days of the workshop and will be joined by Dr. Bill Johnson, an expert on second language pedagogy. On the third day, CeLTIE will coordinate the instructional technology component and Dr. Sunyoung Shin, a foreign language assessment specialist, will explore key concepts and issues in second/foreign language assessment. |
This is a free workshop and is open to all interested individuals, though space is limited. It will be a superb introduction to language instruction methodologies and pedagogical issues, or a refresher and review of various teaching methodologies and resources for language instructors.
NOTE: The first two days are a Saturday and Sunday.
Please register by August 13, 2010 with Pam Christenberry.
