August 21 - 23, 2013 at Ballantine Hall, Room 103 (Main Classroom)

The Center for the Study of Global Change, the Center for Language Technology and Instructional Enrichment (CeLTIE), and the Department of Second Language Studies (SLS) are sponsoring the 2013 annual Language Pedagogy, Assessment, and Technologies Workshop for Less Commonly Taught Language instructors on August 21-23. The first two days will emphasize language pedagogies, instructional methodologies, and assessment. The lead instructor will be Dr. Anita Alkhas, Associate Professor of French language and literature at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee and specialist in the use of technology in foreign language pedagogy. The third day will focus on relevant instructional technologies at CeLTIE and the special needs of LCTL students.

Language Pedagogy, Assessment & Technology Workshop for LCTL Instructors

This is a free introductory workshop and open to all interested individuals, although space is limited. The purpose is to prepare new FLTA's to effectively teach their native languages to American students in IU classroom settings and provide the latest in teaching and assessment techniques and instructional technologies. Veteran instructors may want to join it for a 'tune-up,' but there is no specific advanced instruction.
